Illinois State Police Searching for Person Who Fled Traffic Stop


COLLINSVILLE, IL – The Illinois State Police (ISP), District 11, is looking for Horacio Hernandez, a 47 year-old Hispanic Male who is 5' 7", 200 pounds, black hair and brown hair.  Hernandez was last seen wearing blue jeans, a teal shirt, and a tan "Members Only" jacket.  He is believed to be in the area north of I-70 between Gigler Road and the west side of Silver Lake (near Highland, IL).

Hernandez was stopped for a traffic offense on I-70 near mile post 26 (east bound Silver Lake rest area) and the Trooper suspected criminal activity.  At approximately 2:45 p.m., while a search of the vehicle was being conducted, Hernandez fled the scene.    A large quantity of drugs was later located in Hernandez's vehicle.  

Hernandez did not possess any weapons at the time he fled the traffic stop.  Anyone with information should call 911.
