Morning Snow Causes Multiple Crashes in the Metro-East

COLLINSVILLE, IL – The Illinois State Police (ISP), District 11, spent the morning dealing with numerous traffic crashes.  From approximately 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. District 11 handled 125 weather related incidents.  Cars sliding into ditches, motorist assists and crashes accounted for the majority of the calls.  

District 11 Troopers handled 38 crashes.  Eight of those crashes involved personal injury.  Twenty-three crashes occurred on interstates, 13 crashes occurred on state routes, and two crashes occurred on city/county roads.

At this time there are no crashes or traffic problems to report.
