COLLINSVILLE, IL � Lieutenant Parsons, Interim District 11 Commander, announces the results of a roadside safety check (RSC). The RSC was conducted on December 30 at Martin Luther King Dr. and Collinsville Ave in East St. Louis. The RSC resulted in 29 citations and two warnings.
Six citations were issued for driver license offenses, ten people were issued citations for not wearing their seat belts, four people received citations for failure to restrain their child, four alcohol related citations were issued, and five other citations were issued. One person was also arrested for an outstanding warrant.
Some of the roadside safety checks are funded through a grant from the United States Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, division of Traffic Safety.
