COLLINSVILLE, IL - In the Metro-East the interstates and state routes are passable for the most part. Drivers are reminded to drive with caution (reduce speed and increase vehicle following distance) as there could still be slick patches in some areas.

COLLINSVILLE, IL - In the Metro-East the interstates and state routes are passable for the most part. Drivers are reminded to drive with caution (reduce speed and increase vehicle following distance) as there could still be slick patches in some areas.
Troopers working the road have reported that the roads are "snow covered, but passable." Speeds are averaging 45 mph on the interstates.
Seven crashes were handled by the Illinois State Police during the overnight hours.
Currently the Illinois State Police is NOT handling any crashes NOR are any of the interstates closed/blocked.
