COLLINSVILLE, IL – On March 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. the Illinois State Police, District 11 and Zone 6, held their annual Awards Ceremony.  Awards were given by the Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois State Police to officers for their efforts in making area roadways safer.  Service pins were awarded to employees for their years of service to the Illinois State Police.  Below is a listing of the awards.

Illinois Department of Transportation awards – Presented by Richard Allan, Law Enforcement Liaison with the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.

Alcohol impaired drivers are annually responsible for a significant number of personal injury and loss of life traffic crashes. The following officers received achievement awards based on the number of total career arrests they have made for driving under the influence (DUI).

Aggressive traffic enforcement and promoting the increased use of seatbelts on Illinois roadways results in the saving of lives and prevention of injuries due to traffic crashes.  The following officers received achievement awards for enforcement of mandatory seat belt laws over their career.

The following officers received achievement awards for speeding citations issued through their career.

Illinois State Police District 11 awards – Presented by Captain Brad Parsons, District 11 Commander.  

Illinois State Police District 11 is responsible for keeping roadways in Monroe, Clinton, Bond, St. Clair, and Madison counties safe for motorists.  Enforcement of state laws and federal regulations assists in providing for safer roadways.  The following officers received awards for their enforcement efforts during the 2011 calendar year.
Trooper Derek Cullen – 55 DUI arrests.
Trooper James Randolph – 69 alcohol arrests.
Trooper Jarrod Leckrone – 1,025 occupant restraint arrests.
Trooper Jarrod Leckrone – 2,640 total activity (Includes citations, warnings, assists, Motor Carrier Safety inspections, field reports, crash reports and tow reports).
Trooper Jeffrey Snyder – 1,009 speed arrests.
Trooper Eric Heberer – 116 criminal arrests.
Trooper Zachary Heard – 200 Motor Carrier Safety inspections (Patrol Officer).
Trooper Brian Ropac – 981 Motor Carrier Safety inspections (Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer).

Illinois State Police District 11 Telecommunicator (TC) of the Year (2012) award presented by Commander Scott Abbott.
TC DeAnn Rizzi received the 2012 Telecommunicator of the year award for her distinguished service and outstanding abilities she displays as a TC.  Her professional skill and devotion to duty reflects the highest credit upon the ISP and District 11.
