Narrative: Unit #1, a tractor/trailer (double bottom trailer), was
traveling on the I-70 Westbound exit ramp to I-55 Northbound. Unit #1 went
ouf of control, and flipped onto the driver's side of the vehicle. Driver
of Unit #1, Geneva B. Huneycutt, was trapped inside the cab of the tractor
from the crash, and had to be extricated. Huneycutt had serious injuries,
and was flown from the scene by ARCH Helicopter to St. Louis University
Hospital. The trailer or trailers were transporting medical equipment,
which was thrown all over the roadway. The ramp was closed for
approximately 5 1/2 hours. Huneycutt was issued a citation for Failure To
Reduce Speed To Avoid An Accident.
