Narrative: Unit 1, the pick up truck, was traveling west on Illinois Route
140. Unit 2, the motorcycle, was traveling east on Illinois Route 140, and
was approaching Unit 1. Unit 1 turned left (south) into a private
residence at 7026 State Route 140 directly in front of Unit 2. Unit 2
struck Unit 1 in the passenger door, and ejected both occupants of Unit 2.
Both occupants of Unit 2 were wearing helmets. Driver of Unit 2, Hepler,
was critically injured, and was flown from the scene by Arch Helicopter to
St. Louis University Hospital. The rear passenger of Unit 2, Wallace, was
seriously injured, and was transported by ambulance from the scene to Alton
Memorial Hospital, and she was later transferred to Barnes Hospital. She
is in stable condition. The driver of Unit 1, Yates, and both passsengers
of Unit 1 were not injured in the crash.
