Charges Filed in Multi-Car Crash on I-55/70
Anna J. Jarmon Charged with Three Felony Counts of Reckless Conduct
MADISON COUNTY, IL – Captain Brad Parsons, District 11 Commander, announces that an arrest has been made in the multi-car crash that occurred on I-55/70 on February 19, 2012.
On February 29, 2012 Illinois State Police charged 28 year-old Anna J. Jarmon of Maryland Heights Missouri with three counts of reckless conduct. The charges alleged that Jarmon acted in a reckless manner and caused great bodily harm to three different people. The Charges stem from a crash that occurred on I-55/70.
“Without the cooperation of Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons and his office, we wouldn’t have been able to secure these charges,” stated Captain Parsons. “A good working relationship with State’s Attorney’s offices is essential for the arrest and prosecution of those who cause harm to others,” he continued.
On February 19, 2012 Jarmon was the front seat passenger in a white Ford Explorer which was traveling southbound on I-55/70 near Fairmont City (mile post 6.8). Jarmon started arguing with a back seat passenger and asked the driver to pull over. Jarmon grabbed the steering wheel and jerked the wheel to the right. The driver of the Explorer lost control and the vehicle overturned. The Explorer was then struck by a blue Hyundai and a black GMC. A black Toyota Tundra then struck the blue Hyundai.
Seriously injured in the crash were; the driver of the Explorer, Cori Jarmon (female), age 33 of St. Louis, Missouri; the driver of the Hyundai, Michael Adams (male), age 22 of Swansea, Illinois; and the passenger in the Huyndai, Michael Lively (male), age 34 of Collinsville, Illinois.
On March 7, Jarmon turned herself in to authorities. Jarmon posted bond (10 percent of $75,000) and was released.
THE PUBLIC IS REMINDED THAT ALL ARRESTED PERSONS ARE MERELY ACCUSED OF THE CHARGES AGAINST
THEM AND ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNLESS PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.
