Illinois State Police Announce Results of Alcohol Countermeasure
Enforcement Surveillance Details
Collinsville IL ? Illinois State Police, Zone 6 officers conducted Alcohol
Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) surveillance at various establishments
during the evening hours of Friday, September 21, 2012, in Madison County.
The purpose of these ACE details is to determine which businesses may be
selling alcoholic beverages to minors (persons under 21 years of age).
A total of 23 locations were surveyed in Edwardsville, Glen
Carbon, Maryville and Troy. Of those businesses, Super Valu, 523 Troy
Plaza, Troy, Phillips 66 Gas Station, 804 South Main, Troy, and Walgreens,
2 Cottonwood Road, Glen Carbon, were involved in the sale of an alcoholic
beverage to a minor. Store employees Donald J. Callahan, Erica A.
Burraughs and Trudy V. Neely were arrested for Unlawful Delivery of
Alcoholic Liquor to a Minor, a Class A misdemeanor. All were released
pending a notice to appear in court. The public is reminded that charges
are merely accusations and all defendants are presumed innocent unless
proven guilty. This project was funded by the Illinois Department of
Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.
