Illinois State Police Announce Results of Alcohol Countermeasure
Enforcement Surveillance Details
Collinsville IL ? Illinois State Police Zone 6 officers conducted Alcohol
Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) surveillance at various establishments
during the evening hours of Thursday, August 23, 2012, in St. Clair
County. The purpose of these ACE details is to determine which businesses
may be selling alcoholic beverages to minors (persons under 21 years of
age).
A total of 23 locations were surveyed in Caseyville, Fairview
Heights, Belleville, O?Fallon and Shiloh. Of those businesses, Handee
Mart, 411 N. Main Street, Caseyville, Phillips 66 Gas Station, 5904 Old
St. Louis Road, Belleville, BP Station, 720 South Lincoln, O?Fallon, and
Phillips 66, 2411 Lebanon Avenue, Belleville, were involved in the sale of
an alcoholic beverage to a minor. Store employees Melody A. McQuary,
Stephen P Kloess, Daniel L Stanton Sr., and Wardell Mosby Jr. were
arrested for Unlawful Delivery of Alcoholic Liquor to a Minor, a Class A
misdemeanor. All were released pending a notice to appear in court. The
public is reminded that charges are merely accusations and all defendants
are presumed innocent unless proven guilty. This project was funded by
the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.
Employees at the following establishments are to be commended for
not selling alcohol to a minor after asking for identification:
