Narrative:
Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on I-70 near milepost 39 when the driver of Unit 1 lost control of Unit 1 for an unknown reason. Unit 1 went through the tall grassy median into the westbound lanes.
Unit 2 was a truck tractor semi trailer traveling westbound on I-70. Unit 2 just moved to the left lane to go around another truck tractor in the right lane. Unit 2 driver did not see Unit 1 because of tall grass and small trees on a down slope curve until Unit 1 came up underneath his wheels.
Crash Reconstruction Officers were called to process the scene. Westbound lanes were shut down for 5.5 hours.
Investigation is ongoing.
No citations have been issued.
